Sermon Recap

  • Suzanne reminded us that people are first and foremost God’s treasures.
  • However, we are often tempted to see people as
    • Problems to be solved
    • Commodities to be used
    • Enemies to be defeated
  • She encouraged us to consider which of those lenses we are most tempted to view people through and invite God to show us again how to view people as his treasures.
  • She handed out “gold” coins to help us remember God’s joy at each one of his treasured people.

Reflection Questions:

  • When in your life have you viewed another person as a problem to be solved?
  • When in your life have you viewed another person as a commodity to be used?
  • When in your life have you viewed another person as an enemy to be defeated?
  • Spend some time first dwelling on the truth that God views YOU as a treasure. Then spend some time praying for God to shift your lens to view others as his treasure.
