Sermon Recap

  • Pastor Suzanne talked about the passage for Palm Sunday about Jesus arriving in Jerusalem on a donkey.
  • She invited us to remember and reflect on the character of a God who enters not as a violent warrior, but as a humble king weeping over a city and longing for peace for the people who misunderstand him.
  • She reminded us that as we think about our mortality, we ought to be comforted by the fact that God is a God who loves us first, who comes to us with open arms, and who approaches us with gentleness and not anger.

Sermon Reflection Questions:

  • As you think about dying one day, what emotions stir for you?
  • What picture of God do you have as you think about meeting him upon your death?
  • Spend some time in the story that Suzanne told about an anxious, dying man who was invited to picture God as a kind, gentle father with arms wide open. Ask God to give you hope and reduce your anxiety as you think about living and dying belonging only to Him.
